This object is a pair of identical wooden pieces, approximately 10 inches in length and less than half an inch in width for each within the pair. They are made of wood, which is so smooth it is almost plastic feeling to the touch. They fit well into one's hand, one object within the pair per hand and appear to be used for a dining experience. This object is less thick on one end from the other, making it obvious which end is used to feed and which end should be held in one’s hand. The pointed end can help in picking up small pieces of food because it is easily controlled by the larger end. The smaller, narrower end (used for feeding) is approximately 1/8 inch in width. The larger end (where one holds the object) is approximately 1/4 inch in width.

There is a ribbon tied around the pair of objects that is a dark, burnt orange or almost reddish orange in color that is about 8 inches in length. The ribbon is made of a smooth silk which is a nice contrast to the feeling of wood from the pair of objects. The ribbon is tied in a simple knot, wrapped around the pair of objects to conveniently keep them connected (possibly so that one object within the pair is not lost). The ribbon is tied in a simple knot, after being wrapped around the pair of objects twice. Losing one within the pair would ultimately make this object unusable, making the ribbon a very practical addition to the overall object.

This object also has 5 Chinese characters written across the wide section on both objects within the pair where one would hold them. While I’m not sure what it is saying, it might have something to do with instructions on how to use the pair of objects. Perhaps it is merely talking about something related to eating or the dining experience when using these objects. The writing is in a light green color that appears to be fading away somewhat. This could be from the age of the objects or even from the wear caused by placing one’s hand on that particular area. The green color of the characters is also accented with a glittery, green overlay which makes them stand out more to the viewer.
