Audit Trail Review
Contribution: Product design strategy, UX design, systems thinking, discovery, user research, Human-AI interaction modeling, cross-functional collaboration
Introduction
Audit Trail Review (ATR) is a critical part of ensuring data integrity in clinical trials. However, in practice, conducting an audit trail review is overwhelming, fragmented, and manual and time consuming. As volume and complexity of data grows across clinical systems, teams struggle to find meaningful patterns within millions of audit log entries. This leads to inefficiency, compliance risk, and a lack of oversight.
Background
I led the UX design for Medidata’s first of its kind AI-based experience for conducting audit trail reviews; designing an experience and workflow that helps teams easily understand what happened, when, and why across the lifecycle of clinical data using a chat-based LLM. The work introduced a clear, human-centered interaction model and laid the foundation for AI-assisted data investigation across the broader Medidata platform.

Formstack Platform Launch
Contribution: UI/UX design, design direction, customer discovery, cross-team coordination, sprint planning, workshop facilitation, strategy
Introduction
Spearheaded the launch of the Formstack platform, a comprehensive offering that addressed critical problem areas and introduced a unified onboarding experience. This portfolio piece highlights my contributions in UI/UX design, design direction, cross-team coordination, sprint planning, and workshop facilitation. Through strategic decision-making and meticulous attention to detail, I played a key role in delivering a seamless and user-centric platform launch.
Background
The vision for the Formstack platform originated from the company’s commitment to providing robust and integrated solutions for businesses of all sizes. Recognizing the need to offer a unified experience and streamline processes, Formstack set out to develop an all-in-one platform that combined its suite of applications and introduced new features to empower users.

Phoenix Design System
Contribution: UI/UX design, design direction, tooling and technology selection, competitive analysis, PD/FE alignment, version control, product ownership, backlog management
Introduction
The Phoenix Design System is a comprehensive UI/UX design system for the Formstack platform. Through my expertise in UI/UX design, design direction, and collaboration with both Product Designers and front-end Engineers, I successfully established a unified and consistent visual language across the platform. This portfolio piece highlights the objectives, approach, and achievements of the Phoenix Design System.
Background
In 2015, Formstack faced challenges with inconsistent UI components, styles, and a lack of a well-defined visual language within its Forms application. Recognizing the need for a standardized ruleset and streamlined design-to-engineering handoff, I embarked on creating the Phoenix Design System.

M&A Design Strategy
Contribution: UI/UX design, design direction, cross-team coordination, HTML/CSS
Introduction
From 2017-2019, Formstack purchased 5 companies through acquisitions. I was responsible for bringing 3 of these applications into the Formstack customer journey, working to align each with Formstack’s brand, unifying the user experience and user interfaces to create consistency, and the creation of a navigation pattern that could persist across all applications and support users as they moved across the Formstack suite of web-based products.
Background
By focusing on aligning the acquired products with Formstack’s look and feel, introducing a shared service header for consistent navigation, conducting heuristic evaluations for usability improvements, and applying a standard pattern and component set, we successfully created a unified and cohesive user experience across the Formstack suite of products.

Workflow Forms
Contribution: UI/UX design, user research, usability testing, cross-team coordination (Data Science, Engineering, Product Marketing, and Product Management)
Introduction
Since the company’s founding, Formstack has been a data capture tool where a single form was filled out by a single person, thus creating a single submission record. We recognized, however, that most business processes happen with multiple people, many touch-points, and not always through a linear and clean path to completion. Because of this, we aimed to reimagine how people fill out forms to allow for much more complex Workflow management to take place.
Background
This effort aimed to transform a Form Building SaaS application into a workflow automation platform. We took this initiative all the way from concept and early customer discovery to a fully realized production-worthy solution that transformed what was offered by Formstack and enabled infinite use cases to be solved using the platform.
